Hollie Allsopp

Director

Hollie’s love and passion for theatre began at Spa Theatre Company Juniors, where she first joined the company in 2006 in their production of Annie. From that moment, she was hooked—developing a deep appreciation for performance, building confidence, and forming lasting connections that have stayed with her ever since.

In 2008, following Spa Theatre's successful run of 'The Wizard of Oz', Hollie expanded her experience by performing as part of an adult cast in a two-week run of The Wizard of Oz at The Loft Theatre, where she took on the role of a Munchkin. This opportunity allowed her to grow as a performer and gain valuable experience working in a larger-scale production environment. She stayed with Spa Theatre for several productions over the years, including Oliver! The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe and Dracula Spectacular.

Hollie later secured a place at the prestigious Ustinov Theatre School, a highly competitive programme based at the Playbox Theatre’s Dream Factory Centre in Warwick. Out of over 3,000 applicants, she was selected as one of just 35 young performers to take part. During her time there, she performed in Paradise Kills, a unique and original piece created for the theatre school—an experience that further strengthened her passion for the arts.

Alongside her lifelong love of performing, Hollie is a Primary School Teacher, where she brings creativity into the classroom and weaves the arts into as many lessons as possible. She also leads a thriving 150-member school choir, with one of her favourite highlights being taking the children to perform at Young Voices each year.

Hollie has continued her connection with Spa Theatre Company by assisting with their recent production of Bugsy Malone, and is incredibly excited to now step into the role of Director. It truly feels like a full-circle moment for her, returning to the place where her journey began. She considers it a real privilege to take on this role and cannot wait to work alongside the incredibly talented cast and production team.

Outside of directing and teaching, Hollie loves watching performances, particularly musical theatre, with Les Misérables being a firm favourite.
