Having trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Gil then went on to performing in pit orchestras as a keyboard player and musical director. Having worked on hundreds of shows over two decades, highlights include performing at the Hammersmith Apollo, Birmingham Hippodrome and a live broadcast with Jose Carreras on German TV. 

His passion for working with young performers led to him founding the Youth Onstage company in Birmingham before heading full time into Secondary education. 

Gil has been the Director of Music at Princethorpe College in Warwickshire for the last 13 years where he has put in productions of many shows, including ‘Matilda’, ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Loserville’.

Outside of his day job, he still remains active in the local Musical Theatre scene playing for productions across the Midlands.
