STC Director, Wendy Miller

Wendy studied Drama at the Birmingham School of Speech & Drama from the age of eight. Having a strong passion for acting and a genuine love for the theatre, she became involved with local theatre companies and performed in many productions including: Peer Gynt, Macbeth, The Pied Piper of Hamlyn, Blondel, Me & My Girl and The Sound of Music. She has also played many principal roles in productions at the Royal Spa Centre including Maggie Jones — 42nd Street, the Cowardly Lion — The Wizard of Oz, Irene Roth — Crazy for You, Mrs Sowerberry — Oliver! and Mrs Eynesford Hill — My Fair Lady.

Wendy became Artistic Director of the Spa Theatre Company Juniors in early 2001, where her first project was to cast for the award winning children’s musical Bugsy Malone. Following on from its sell out success at the Bridge House Theatre, Warwick, she continued to raise the bar and went on to produce and direct the critically acclaimed Godspell, Piers Chater-Robinson’s Peter Pan and most recently has enjoyed another great sell out success with Annie the musical. In June 2006, Wendy was selected as a semi-finalist for the Channel 4 Theatre Director Scheme in London.
